Hurts to be Right

Well, I'm still perfect on the season, sadly.

The Bucs underperformed last week and still managed to make a game out of their loss against the Ravens. They lost 17-10. The Bucs, for the most part, kept Baltimore at bay until Cody Grimm went out of the game with a season ended leg injury. After he left, the Ravens made quick work of the defense and scored two quick touchdown drives.

The offenses failed to get into the endzone until late in the fourth quarter and by then it was too late to mount a comeback. Baltimore retained the ball until the time expired and did not allow Josh Freeman a chance at one of his patented comeback drives. The Bucs fell to 7-4 on the season and now face an Atlanta Falcon team that is red hot. The Falcons share the best record in the NFL with a 9-2 mark and are a team that make few turnovers and even fewer turnovers.

This is a home game for the Bucs, and it is a win they very much need. A loss will put them far behind in the wildcard hunt, and it would be unlikely that three teams from the NFC south make it to the playoffs. The Saints hold a 8-3 record and have already beaten the Bucs earlier this season. Tampa still has to play New Orleans one more time in their house at the end of the season. It's a game that looks more and more like a do or die game for both teams who are fighting to stay alive.

But for the time being, the focus needs to be Atlanta. This is out Ring of Honor game and we are playing with those lovely creamsickle orange uniforms that have been a distinction for disaster. Of course last year that was not the case when Tampa donned the Bucco Bruce jerseys and beat the Green Bay Packers (A heavily favored team at the time) for Freeman and the Bucs first win of the season.

I predicted we would win one of the Atlanta games. So here's where I say we get the W. We were close last time, and this time it is in our house. Bring it!
