Disgusted...

Miami just lost to Virginia...

A team that hasn't beat an opponent in the ACC since early last year. The string of losses for the Caveliers went as far as nine losses, but they didn't reach ten...

Gawd dammit!

Oh, Miami lost Jacory Harris during this game too. The highly critisized Miami quarterback is one who was often talked badly about. Many wanted to see him benched in favor of one of the backup QBs and those that wished that got their wish. the offense without Harris looked pourus.

It was pathetic, and I am disgusted at the defense and the ofense that forgot to run the ball during this time.

Oh and fire the coach please? He decided it was best to start a QB that I had never even heard of. Morris or something who was not even on the depth cart was the QB for Miami in the 2nd half.

I don't know why.

Who cares, right? The Hurricanes season is over. They no longer control their own destiny. I have officially lost faith.

~

Oh and Florida State lost too. Which makes next weeks rankings the first time in a good decade or two that NO team from Florida will be in the top 25 in college football.

Le fucking sigh.

Perfect so Far

I don't want to get into that Dolphins game right now. There was something fishy about that whole ordeal. They lost on some bogus and questionable referee work.

~

But hey, the Bucs won again! Just like I said they would. 4-2 right now, but my record perfect so far. I guessed they would lose to the Saints and beat the Rams, which they did. Now, they go to Arizona and play a Cardinal team who doesn't even have a quarterback. This should be easy...

Should be...

The BCS and Florida Teams

It's week two of the BCS standings and it does not look any clearer than last week. For the third time in just as many weeks, the number one team has fallen and a new number one has is out in front of the other schools. Auburn, after its impressive win over rival LSU has its first number one BCS ranking in school history. Good for them and good for Florida's recycled Quarterback turned Heisman candidate, Cameron Newton.

The former Gator was kicked off the Florida team for supposedly stealing a laptop and trying to dispose of the computer before police could track Newton with the stolen property. Newton is at fault for trying to hide the evidence from police by throwing the laptop away in a garbage bin, only to have cops discover the portable PC with Newton's abbreviations etched into the computer. The report was filed and Newton got the axe, however it turns out that Newton had bought the laptop from someone not knowing it was stolen and freaked out upon hearing that the police were investigating him for theft. The six foot six inches, 250 pound quarterback was playing football at a junior college in Texas last year before Auburn coach Gene Chizik deciding to try him out as his quarterback for the Tigers. That gamble seems to have paid out.

In other news concerning the BCs and Florida teams, there are currently two ranked teams in the state of Florida right now. Florida State is the highest ranked team from the state at number 16, while the Miami Hurricanes are back in the standings after a one week absence. The Canes jump into the BCS for the first time this year at number 22. Florida State, after their bye goes on the road to take on the (5-2) NC State Wolf pack. Meanwhile, Miami travels to Virginia to take on the Cavaliers. If both teams win out then it is guaranteed that they will meet each other one more time this season in the ACC championship game which is played at Raymond James Stadium. in their first meeting this year, Florida State trounced the Hurricanes in Miami bye the score of 45-17.

In other local news, the Florida Gators look to be unranked for quite some time. Starting the season in the top ten Florida has fallen off the grid after three straight SEC losses. They were on a bye this week so they remained idle. Next Saturday is their annual game in Jacksonville against rival Georgia. The USF Bulls finally got their offense working in a winning effort against a reeling Cincinnati team. The Bulls beat last year’s big east champions in Cincinnati which should boost first year coach, Skip Holtz's confidence. In central Florida, the UCF Knights look to take the lead in their conference with their next game against East Carolina. Both teams are unbeaten in conference USA play. The winner takes the commanding spot in the East.

Things are starting to heat up in college football. No team is safe from the upset bug, but will we see the number one team fall for the fourth week in a row? If there is anything assured in this sport it is this: nothing is guaranteed in this anymore.

The NFL vs College Football

Sometimes, the question is asked: What makes the National Football League and it's predecessor, the NCAA College Football programs different?

You get paid to play in the NFL. You get at best an academic scholarship while playing football in college, it's nowhere near the amount of money you receive in the NFL though. Not by a long shot.

The hash marks (those white lines in the middle of every football field) in NFL games are more narrow then what they are in college. This makes setting up for Field Goals in college a little harder because the hash mark where you ended your last play is the side where you line up for a FG.

There is no two minute warning in College Football.

The clock stop momentarily once the offense successfully gets a first down in College Football. The clock never stops in the pros when the ball is in the field of play.

The College Football PAT (point after touch) is one yard farther then where the NFL players set up for their PAT tries. Hey, it's not much, but it's still different!

In College once your knee touches the ground, the play is dead wherever you are. this is not the case in the NFL, you can catch the ball with either knee down or falling to the ground, but as long as no one on the defense touches you, you can get back and and pick up more yards.

In College you only need one foot in bounds to secure a completed pass. In the pros you need both feet in bounds for a recorded reception. It makes sideline grabs that much more difficult when you have to catch the ball and keep both of your feet in bounds.

Overtime in both levels are vastly different as well. In College both teams get the ball at their 25 yard line. The game goes on until one team scores and/or stops the opposing team first. Both get the chance to score TDs or FGs. In the NFL whoever scores first, wins. There is only one overtime in the NFL level and if no one scores in that allotted time, the game results in a tie. The only time this is not the case in the NFL is in the playoffs or beyond. In College there are no ties.

I think those are most of the differences...

Told You So

1st post in this new blog address, but the same spheal.(not sure how to spell that word.)

This one is going to be aimed towards any and all sports I just so happen to follow.

My other blog is in my dashboard...I guess you can find it through my profile? Not sure!

Anyways, I wanted a win, but I kinda knew the Saints were going to win against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. That's ok though. I did predict this loss which makes them 3-2 right now, but they can still make it to a 10-6 record. They just need to man up at home and beat the Rams this Sunday. It seems as though I have taken the ams for granted, as they might not be the best team around, but they are competeing in games more then I thought they would be. Either way, we need this win.

Don't let me down boys!

edit: Currently one out of one in predictions for the Bucs this year! this week I predict a win, lets see how good my knack for these types of things really is. (Will keep track of this for the rest of the season.)
